LGUSD Healthy Schools Week - January 7, 2022

Hand Hygiene

Hand Washing

Healthy schools focus on healthy hygiene. Our staff continues to highlight the importance of hand hygiene. Students and staff are frequently washing their hands or sanitizing throughout the day. It is important to us that students understand why we focus on hand hygiene, taking time in class to discuss it. We have provided short instructional videos for students to view with teachers or at home.

You can support the importance of hand washing at home. Watch the videos that have been shared with students on the LGUSD Healthy & Safe Schools 21-22 playlist.

Clarification - What is Fully Vaccinated?

Vaccination
Vaccines remain the best public health measure to protect people from COVID-19 and slow community transmission, which help keep students in schools. According to CDPH and the CDC, a person is fully vaccinated 2 weeks after the second dose or booster.

Students who are fully vaccinated are eligible for a modified quarantine. This information helps determine quarantine timeframes.

Yesterday, eligible families (students ages 5+) received a link to voluntarily share vaccination information with the district.  Please submit information 2 weeks after the student has received their second shot. We will send reminders throughout the year.

Students who previously submitted the information did not receive the link yesterday.

Please note, information is collected and sorted by school site.  If you uploaded an elementary school vaccine record and selected Fisher Middle Schools because no elementary schools were listed, please resubmit the form so we have your child tied to the correct school.

Contact d[email protected] if you have questions or need assistance with submitting the information.
