LGUSD Healthy Schools Week - January 3, 2022

When to Stay Home

LGUSD Healthy Schools Week When to Stay HomeWelcome back to school!  It is exciting to have students back on campus for 2022.  Thank you to everyone who participated in our PCR testing clinic on 12/30 and picked up the before-school antigen home tests to help everyone return to school healthy.

There is no denying that our county is experiencing the same Omicron surge that we see around the world.  However, we are very well poised to keep our community as healthy as possible.

One of the greatest ways to slow the spread of COVID-19 is to stay home when you are sick.  Please keep your child home if they are experiencing any of the symptoms associated with COVID 19. Even when it may just be a cold, stay home, rest and test.
When to stay home - Fever of 100.0 or higher, chills, cough, sore throat, shortness of breath, difficulty breathing, loss of taste or smell, headache, diarrhea, fatigue/confusion, body/muscle aches, nausea, vomiting, congestion/runny nose

LGUSD COVID Testing Immediate Family Testing

We offer daily COVID testing for symptomatic students and staff at 2:30 pm at the District Office.

We also offer asymptomatic testing every day after school beginning at 3:00 (and 12:30 on Wednesday for elementary students).  This is another way to provide frequent screening for all of our students and staff.  We have extended our daily testing until 5:00pm each day for the next two weeks. All of our students and staff are encouraged to take a PCR test.

In light of the Omicron surge, beginning today through January 14, we are opening our PCR Covid Clinic to the immediate family (parents and siblings) of students enrolled in Los Gatos Union School District.

If you are a family member, please do NOT register with your associated school site.  All family members should register associated with the DISTRICT OFFICE using the link below.

CDPH Guidelines - Awaiting Update

California Department of Public Health LogoWe are actively monitoring updates from the California Public Health Department (CDPH).  The release of guidance on 12/30/21 was for the general public.  We are expecting updated school guidance to be shared in the coming days.   Until new school guidelines are published by CDPH, we are required to follow the current school guidelines, which require a 10-day quarantine in all cases.  We will review and share changes with the community as soon as they become available.
