Fingerprinting Requirements
Our number one priority is to make sure our students are safe at school and these guidelines are intended to add another layer of security.
Please review the chart below about volunteers vs. visitors. If you have questions about an individual situation/scenario, please reach out to your school principal.
Recurring Classroom Volunteers: Anyone who works on-site with students on an ongoing basis. |
Spectators: Attending events like assemblies, carnivals, parades por performances |
Student Supervision: School shows, rehearsals, classroom helpers, library helper, lunch time activities (i.e. Fun Visors, Mileage Club, Running Club, Book Fairs, etc.) |
Visitors: Stopping by the office to conduct business or attending parent-teacher conference |
Field Trip Drivers and Chaperones: All individuals responsible for supervising students on field trips |
Classroom/Site Visit: Watch your child present or perform when a staff member is present or attending a meeting |
Extracurricular Coaches: Coaches fro any school sports teams |
Classroom and School Gatherings: Attending classroom celebrations or parties and special events such as fun runs, carnivals, festivals, parades, and assemblies as a spectator |
To facilitate access to fingerprinting and encourage parent engagement and volunteerism, LGUSD will cover the cost of individuals who are fingerprinted at an LGUSD-sponsored fingerprinting opportunity. Those are shared with families via ParentSquare.
Please note that volunteers will only need to submit fingerprints once during their time in LGUSD. If you participated in a previous LGUSD fingerprinting session, you do not need to submit again.
