Parade to the Terraces
- Parade to the Terraces
- 10/31/2019, 1:00 PM – 1:30 PM
The annual Halloween Parade to the Terraces will be held on Thursday, October 31.
The afternoon Kindergarten classes will lead the event and start the parade at 1:00. First-grade classes will follow and the remaining classes may fall-in behind in any order. Some classes may walk together with their Buddy Class. The morning Kindergartners may also participate with parental supervision or with Clubhouse personnel.
Safety is our #1 priority:
Traffic control will be provided on Cherry Blossom and additional adults will be strategically posted along the parade route. All students participating in the parade will need to have a Walking Field Trip form signed by his/her parent or guardian. For families that choose not to have their child(ren) participate, supervision will be provided in the library.
Students may wear their costumes to school on Halloween or slip them on prior to the parade. For safety purposes and to avoid disruption to instructional time ~ masks, pretend weapons, and full-face make-up are not allowed. As you are finalizing costumes, please remember to be culturally sensitive and avoid inadvertently mimicking any person or group of people. If the costume is deemed to be inappropriate at school, we will ask for your child to change out of the costume. We always encourage storybook characters, animals, and homemade costumes. Also, please avoid inflatable costumes as we have found them to be a hindrance during the parade. Thank you for taking care to make Halloween fun, respectful, and safe for everyone.
