LGUSD

What’s happening now:  The Citizen’s Bond Oversight Committee (CBOC) has held two open meetings, with the third meeting scheduled for April 27, 2026. They are working on finalizing the annual report to the community and developing committee bylaws. We are still actively recruiting one committee member: a community member active in a taxpayer organization.   • Project List & Budget Allocations: The Measure CC Project List and Budget Allocations were presented and approved at the April 21, 2026 Board Meeting.  We are currently planning the timing and scope of the approved projects.
  • State Funding Match: LGUSD met with our State Facility Consultant in March to review the LGUSD Facilities Master Plan and determine steps needed for compliance with Prop 2, allowing us to be eligible for state matching funds. 

RJ Fisher Middle School

Project List was approved by the School Board on April 21, 2026:

  • HVAC Replacement
  • New MPR, Reconfiguration of Existing MPR into Music Classrooms, Kitchen Expansion, Shade Cover, and Courtyard Greenery
  • Modernize Wings P, G, Y, and R, including outdoor spaces
  • Reconfigure Restrooms Y
  • Athletic Fields

Classroom HVAC Replacement 

  • What’s happening now:  We are awaiting state approval to begin work on the HVAC at RJ Fisher. The bond program team is assessing the feasibility of phasing the HVAC install over school breaks. The team will continue to monitor progress and evaluate timeline, sequencing and schedule.
  • Timeline:  The team continues to monitor progress of the state application to evaluate the sequencing and timeline.

MPR, Music, and Kitchen Areas 

  • What’s happening now:  These projects are in the planning and conceptual design phase and include a multipurpose room, reconfiguration of the existing MRP into Music classrooms, expansion of the kitchen and shade cover and new green landscaping.
  • Timeline:  Preliminary budgets have been established, with schematic design expected to be presented to the Board for approval at the May 7 Board Meeting. 

Wing Modernizations (P, G, Y, and R)

  • What’s happening now: Priority projects are currently being evaluated to determine if completion within a single summer is possible.  A key factor is the condition of the roof and windows.  
  • Timeline:  We will share a timeline as soon as the scope of work is complete.

Roof & Window Analysis 

  • What’s happening now:  Assessments are underway to determine whether repair or replacement is the most appropriate scope. 
  • Timeline:  We are working to bring consultants on board for a coordinated analysis. 

Traffic Study 

  • What’s happening now: The second study, analyzing morning and afternoon drop-off and pick up at RJ Fisher and Van Meter was conducted on March 26, 2026 with Traffic Consultants, LGUSD staff and the Cumming Group. 
  • Timeline: LGUSD is currently reviewing the report and recommendations. 

Van Meter

Project List was approved by the School Board on April 21, 2026:

  • HVAC Replacement
  • New MPR, Reconfiguration of Existing MPR into two New Classrooms, & Breakout Spaces
  • Modernize Wings 1, 2, 3, & C, including Restroom Buildings

Classroom HVAC Replacement 

  • What’s happening now:  The state approved the plans for the HVAC replacement at our school site.  The team is working on obtaining materials and construction services to begin the project.  
  • Timeline:  The final contracts will be presented at the May 2026 Board meeting with the goal of beginning working in June 2026.

MPR and New Classroom Spaces 

  • What’s happening now:  We are finalizing the design for a new multipurpose room design at Van Meter.  The existing MPR will be reconfigured into two new classrooms and the library will remain in its current location.  The team is working on those plans to be sure to address the needs of the school site.
  • Timeline:  Schematics designs and plans are expected to be presented to the Board at the May 7, 2026 meeting.

Lexington

  • Install Multi-Weather Track
  • Improve acoustics MPR and Admin Building

HVAC Controls Project

COMPLETE: This is the first Measure CC Bond Project to be completed. The first phase of construction began on 2/17, during the Winter break. The second phase of installation was conducted over Spring Break, the week of April 6, 2026.   The project was completed on April 10 and the final review and training completed on April 21, 2026.

Daves Avenue

Project List was approved by the School Board on April 21, 2026:

  • New Classroom Building – Two Classrooms
  • Modernize Wings B & C - Light Modernization
  • Upgrade Playgrounds
  • Install Shade Structure
