LGUSD

What’s happening now:  We held our first Citizen’s Bond Oversight Committee meeting on February 2, 2026. This volunteer group ensures that voter-approved bond funds are spent properly on our schools and students. We still have a few openings on the committee. RJ Fisher Middle School

MPR, Music, & Kitchen

  • What’s happening now: We have completed the schematic design phase. The project team will now focus  on refining design details, finalizing specifications, and preparing construction documents. 

  • Timeline: Progress remains on schedule with construction beginning June 2027.

HVAC Update

  • What’s happening now:  The State asked for more details on our plans. Our team has submitted that information and we are now waiting for their final approval.

  • Timeline:  Because of the extra step in the approval process, we are tentatively targeting mid Summer to begin construction.

Security Cameras

  • What’s happening now: LGUSD leaders and school staff have met to identify the best spots for new cameras. We are now working with a security expert to finalize the specific types of technology and systems that will be best for our schools.

  • Timeline:  The Bond Management Team is currently determining if this work can be completed this Summer. 

Traffic Study

  • What’s happening now: We have finished the first round of our traffic study with the traffic consultants and are reviewing the initial traffic report.    

  • Timeline:  A follow-up visit to RJ Fisher is targeted for early March to perform a traffic study at different times and days of the week to gather additional information regarding site concerns.

Van Meter

HVAC Update

  • What’s happening now:  The State has officially accepted our project plans and is now performing a detailed safety and design review. Meanwhile, our team is double-checking the blueprints to ensure they are ready for building. We are also preparing to invite contractors to bid on the project, with a meeting scheduled for March 12, 2026.

  • Timeline:  We hope to start construction this summer. Our schedule depends on how quickly we receive final approval of our plans.

  • What’s happening now: LGUSD leaders and school staff have met to identify the best spots for new cameras. We are now working with a security expert to finalize the specific types of technology and systems that will be best for our schools.

  • Timeline:  The Bond Management Team is currently determining if this work can be completed this Summer.

Lexington

HVAC Controls Project Update

  • What’s happening now:  We have officially launched the project after meeting with our installation team on-site to finalize the plan. All necessary equipment and materials have been delivered and are ready for use.

  • Timeline:  The first phase of installation began over the February Recess.  We expect the entire project to be completed during Spring Break in April.
