Criteria for attending school:

  1. Be asymptomatic; 
  2. Continue to appropriately mask, as required;
  3. Undergo COVID testing** (outlined below); and
  4. Continue to quarantine for all extracurricular activities at school, including sports, and activities within the community setting.

Quarantine is identified as 10 days, but may be shortened to 7-days as outlined below.

Criteria for shortening quarantine to 7 days:

  1. Be asymptomatic; 
  2. Continue to appropriately mask, as required;
  3. Undergo COVID testing** (outlined below); and
  4. Continue to quarantine for all extracurricular activities at school, including sports, and activities within the community setting. 

Criteria for attending school:

  1. Be asymptomatic; 
  2. Continue to appropriately mask, as required; and
  3. Undergo COVID testing** (outlined below)

Testing Requirements to Shorten Quarantine to 7 days:

  • On day 5 and receive negative result

Testing Requirements to Attend School:

  • On day 1 and day 5

*Close contact means more than 15 minutes over a 24-hour period within 0-6 feet.


**If you prefer to test through a public or private provider, you will need to share the test results with our District Nurse, Sheila McConville  and our Assistant Superintendent, Sarah Tellez via email:  smcconville@lgusd.org and stellez@lgusd.org.   If at any time your child starts to exhibit symptoms, they must stay home and be tested immediately.


If you do not want to do covid testing, your child will need to stay home for the full 10 days and be monitored for symptoms.
