Superintendent's Update - November 2021 - Happy Thanksgiving

November 19, 2021
Dear Los Gatos Families,
Thanksgiving is one of my favorite times of the year, when we gather as families and friends to reflect on our many blessings. One of my greatest personal blessings this year is to work in such an outstanding school community! The collective dedication of our staff, families, and the greater Los Gatos community is truly heartwarming.
I have the good fortune of working with extremely passionate teachers, administrators, and support staff who go above and beyond for every student, ensuring that our students are successful and cared for.
I’m thankful this year for the exceptional One Community LG (OCLG) team, which includes LGEF, HSC, and OCLG leadership, who collaborated in a unified one-check program. The One Community team laid the groundwork to unify our entire education community.
I greatly appreciate the Home and School Clubs, who have worked tirelessly and given hordes of volunteer hours to support teachers and students returning to full-time instruction following last years’ closures. You make such a difference!
I am grateful for LGEF, who is an exceptional partner with LGUSD, to ensure our strategic plan vision continues to move forward. Every child in LGUSD benefits from this partnership which provides music, art, PE, STEAM, and so many other supports.
I’m thankful to the community of Los Gatos, who stepped up at a critical time to resoundingly support our district with a decisive Measure B victory. This demonstrates commitment to our vision moving forward.
I’m very grateful we have returned to full in-person instruction and that multiple strategies have enabled us to move forward, even in the midst of a pandemic.
Most of all, I want to thank the parents in LGUSD for raising such incredible kids. We, as the staff, are the blessed and lucky ones to work with this group of amazing students.
I wish you all a wonderful Thanksgiving holiday with your families!
Yours in education,
Paul Johnson
