Dear parents,    

On behalf of the board and the wonderful staff here in the district, I extend a warm welcome to all families in the district this school year, especially our new incoming TK and kindergarten families.

The Los Gatos Union School District has the reputation for being one of the finest districts in the State. Educating the whole child, which includes an excellent academic program, social emotional development, and the arts, is a priority in the district.  In addition, our quality teaching and support staff is second to none.  

Each school has a thriving Home & School Club that provides enriching school site programs/events, while the Los Gatos Education Foundation (LGEF) works to provide funding for staff positions like art, music, and academic specialists. Both of these critical parent-run organizations have united their efforts to support our schools in the One Community LG program.  Without this support, we wouldn’t be able to provide a top caliber education for our students and implement our strategic vision.  

We are currently in the fourth year of our Strategic Plan Implementation.

This represents a comprehensive effort to bring all stakeholders together to create a five-year vision and direction for LGUSD.  More than 1,800 individuals from across our stakeholder base participated in providing feedback into the future vision of LGUSD through online surveys, committees, and 28 strategic planning focus groups. It is truly a community built plan for our students. 

In support of the plan, in the 2023-2024 school year we are continuing our forward momentum in key strategic areas like Project Based Learning, STEAM, elementary Spanish instruction, prioritization of social emotional learning (SEL), and our LGUSD mission statement of “Service Above Self”.
